Digital attacks are becoming an ongoing daily occurrence - thinking about major breaches at Sony, Target and J.P.Morgan. But after several friends and family members were victimized by identity theft, businessman and inventor Vincent Ramoutar realized that not only are our computers vulnerable, but also our mobile devices that we not only use to make calls and send text messages but now also use for on-line shopping and everyday banking.

Enter lynk, a tiny, smartphone and tablet compatible multifunction wireless device you attach to a keychain and protects the user’s mobile identity. Using a Near Field Communication (NFC) connection, it pairs seamlessly with the mobile lynk apps on smartphones and tablets. It contains four-layer authentication and 128bit AES encryption technology that stores your passwords, PINs, credit card numbers and gives you easy access all your bank and trading accounts and do your on-line shopping and make mobile payments securely on the go.

With lynx’s proximity range indicator, it can also keep tabs on your smartphone and alert you when it’s out of range allowing you to tailor those settings that may differ when you’re at work, home or on the road.  You can set your alert to be a buzzer, vibration or even a ringtone. And if you need to find your phone, maybe it’s stuck in the sofa or in your coat pocket; simply tap your lynk three times and your alert will be enabled even if your phone is set to silent mode.

lynk is powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery that should last about three to four months before it needs to be changed. The app can also remind you how much battery life you actually have left.

lynk is being launched through uConeckt, a Toronto based mobile-tech startup company lead by Ramoutar, the company’s CEO and founder. Ramoutar says that beta testing is almost complete and ready to go for Android, but the company is looking to crowdsource funds through an Indiegogo campaign to help complete testing and production for iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows devices. Delivery is expected to in July 2015.

They have already raised 46% of their $20K U.S. funding goal with 24 days left in the campaign.

lynk will retail for $69 US, but as a backer and early bird adopter you can pick one up, including three free batteries for $39 US in your choice of five colours.
